Twitter Blue - First-Ever Premium Subscription from Twitter

Twitter started rolling out its premium service in select countries this month.

After many months of speculations, Twitter launched its subscription offering called Twitter Blue. The first iteration was initially rolled out in Australia and Canada for a monthly price of CAD 3.49 or AUD 4.49. Looks like Twitter would like to get more feedback before launching it to the rest of the world.

Wondering what “premium” you can get from this subscription? Here’s the list of the most notable features:

Undo Tweet

In case you missed tagging someone or had a typo, you are now given a window of up to 30 seconds to undo your Tweet, reply, or thread you’ve sent to your timeline.

A countdown timer will show you the remaining time before the undo button disappears. When the time is up, your Tweet will be viewable to the public. If you want to publish your Tweet right away, you can bypass the delay by hitting the “Send Now” button.

Reader Mode

This feature turns long Twitter threads into easy-to-read text. Twitter Blue simplified the interface and combined multiple tweets so you can read them seamlessly.

Bookmark Folders

This allows you to organize your saved contents in customizable folders. For businesses that are consuming content on Twitter to stay updated, you may now manage your favorite content efficiently.

Other Perks

Twitter Blue subscribers will also have access to features like fun color themes for the app, customizable app icons on the home screen, and dedicated customer support.

Twitter assured the public that it has no intention of making its platform a paid service. The introduction of Twitter Blue is an optional add-on to provide more convenience to power users.
